ALS Custodial specialises in anti-ligature and safety critical products for prisons, police custody suites, courts and other secure environments.
With specialist knowledge of custodial environments and the products used within them, we provide reliable products, technical guidance and independent advice to help our customers make informed decisions.
We work closely with architects, designers, contractors, procurement teams, facilities managers and custodial organisations, supporting projects from individual product requirements through to large scale developments.

Products you can rely on
Anti-ligature and vandal resistant claims can vary considerably between manufacturers and products, and there is no single industry wide test that applies to every product and application. That is why we believe independent testing and transparent product information matter.
Where applicable, we identify products that have been independently tested under the Ministry of Justice Safer Cell Programme or by the Building Research Establishment under its Informed Choices programme. ALS is committed to quality and operates an ISO 9001 quality management system.
Products manufactured by ALS are also undergoing a programme of measurable product testing through our sister company, Lig-Safe. Testing is designed to assess three key areas of performance:
- Ligature resistance
- Robustness
- Fitness for purpose
