This policy explains what personal information ALS Custodial collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It reflects how the site is configured today and will be updated if that changes.

For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the personal information described below.

What we collect and why

Enquiry forms. When you use a contact or enquiry form we collect your name, email address, company, telephone number (if you give one), the subject of your enquiry and your message. We use this to answer you and, where relevant, to prepare a quotation.

Quote requests. When you submit a quote request we collect your name, company, email address, telephone number, billing address and, where you provide them, a delivery address, the site address where the products will be fitted, and any project details or notes you add. We use this to prepare and issue your quotation and to arrange delivery if you go on to place an order.

Datasheet downloads. Where a datasheet is behind a short form, we collect the details you enter so that we can send you the document and follow up if you would like technical advice.

Accounts. If you create an account we store the details you give us, together with your order and quote history, so that you do not have to re-enter them.

Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, special category data such as health information, or details about individuals in your care.

Our lawful basis

• Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries, preparing quotations and running our business.
• Performance of a contract — processing and fulfilling an order you have placed.
• Legal obligation — keeping accounting and tax records.
• Consent — where you have asked to receive marketing from us. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Marketing

We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it or who have made an enquiry with us about a related product or service. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing info@anti-ligature-shop.co.uk.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

We share it only where it is necessary to do the job:

• our web hosting and email providers, who store the data on our behalf;
• manufacturers and suppliers, where a quotation or order requires it — for example to confirm a specification, a lead time or a delivery address;
• delivery and installation partners, where goods are being shipped or fitted;
• our accountants and professional advisers;
• a regulator or law enforcement body, where we are legally required to.

Tracking and third-party content

This website sets no analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies. Some product pages embed installation videos hosted on YouTube; these load only when you choose to play them. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

International transfers

Our website and email are hosted in the UK. Some of the manufacturers we work with are based outside the UK, so where a quotation or order involves one of them, the details needed to fulfil it may be sent to that country. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and quote requests — up to three years from your last contact with us, so that we can pick up a project where it left off.
• Orders and invoices — seven years, to meet accounting and tax requirements.
• Account records — for as long as the account is open, and then deleted on request.
• Marketing consent records — until you unsubscribe, plus a short period so that we can honour the opt-out.
• Server logs — a short rolling period set by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Security

This website is served over HTTPS, and access to the systems holding your data is restricted to staff who need it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Children

This website is aimed at professional buyers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page. This version was published in September 2026.
