Why independent testing matters
Anti-ligature and vandal resistant claims can vary considerably between manufacturers and products, and there is no single industry wide test that applies to every product and application. That is why independent, third party testing carries weight that a manufacturer’s own claim does not.
The BRE Informed Choices programme
The Building Research Establishment operates its Informed Choices programme, under which products are independently assessed. Where a product in our range has been tested under that programme, we identify it, so that you can specify on the basis of evidence rather than marketing.
The J-TRAC ligature resistant curtain rail system, developed by ALS in partnership with Healsafe Interiors, has been independently tested by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden and by the Building Research Establishment under its Informed Choices programme.
