ALS Custodial works with a small number of specialist manufacturers whose products are designed for the realities of custodial and secure environments. Each has been selected for the same reasons: products that perform under sustained, demanding use, a genuine understanding of the environments they are built for, and a willingness to stand behind independent testing.

Cortech
Cortech manufacture rotationally moulded furniture for custodial and behavioural health environments in the United States. Their one-piece moulded polyethylene construction removes fasteners, seams and gaps, producing furniture that is tamper resistant, inherently antimicrobial and straightforward to clean.
The range covers seating, beds, tables, desks, shelving and property storage, available in eighteen standard colours with custom finishes on request. Products are flame retardant, passing CAL 133 and UL 94 HB, are tested to ISO 22196 showing a greater than 99 per cent reduction in bacteria, and are GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions. Cortech manufacture to ISO quality standards and support their furniture with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
Healsafe Interiors
Healsafe Interiors are specialists in interior design for challenging environments. They designed their first product for forensic psychiatric hospitals in 2010, and demand for safe interior design products has grown steadily since. ALS works with Healsafe to bring the right products to the UK market.
Healsafe developed the J-TRAC ligature resistant curtain rail system in collaboration with ALS. Its monorail design, patent pending, offers enhanced safety over conventional slotted rail systems that rely on friction release gliders or magnetic rail release. The rail does not break, preventing weaponisation, and the curtain releases rather than the rail. J-TRAC has been independently tested by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden and by the Building Research Establishment under its Informed Choices programme.
Hafren Security Fasteners
Hafren Security Fasteners manufacture specialist security screws, nuts and bolts. Their range covers several levels of tamper resistance, from fixings that can be removed for maintenance through to permanent one way heads, so the level of security can be matched to each application.
Light Years Ahead
Light Years Ahead design and manufacture custodial and specialist lighting, including anti-ligature and anti-vandal luminaires for secure environments. They are the manufacturer behind the Lucca multi mode bulkhead supplied by ALS Custodial.
